He Would Have Killed Himself, But Something Happened

A young atheist diver was preparing to compete in the Olympics. His outspoken Christian friend was the sole religious influence in his life. The young diver was never very attentive to his friend’s sermons, but he heard them frequently.

One night, the diver headed to the college’s indoor pool, where he was a student. Unfortunately, they have turned the lights off, but because the swimming pool had large skylights and the moon was glowing, he had enough light to practice.

The young man ascended to the highest diving board, stood on the board’s edge, turned his back on the pool, and faced the wall with his arms spread. He then noticed his body’s shadow on the wall in the shape of a Cross. As a result, he remembered his friend’s preaching and felt guilty in his conscience for his sinful lifestyle and for refusing God. The Holy Spirit convicted him of his sins. Instead of diving, he knelt and asked God to come into his life.

As the young man stood after praying, a maintenance man walked in and turned on the lights. It surprised him that they had drained the pool for repairs. Meaning if he had not knelt to pray, he would have jumped into an empty pool and smashed his head on the concrete, and died. But because he waited to pray by inviting God into his heart, that bought him time to know that the pool was without water.

The story above depicts the demonstration of God’s mercy to the diver. He would have ignorantly killed himself, but God gave him another chance to give his life to Christ. Had he rejected that offer, that would have been the end? So you, too, watch this video, or reading this article is another opportunity to let Christ come into your life. Who knows, this might be your last chance. Hence, postponing might be dangerous.

What does it cost you to give your life to Christ? Jesus Christ gave up His life because of you. The benefits or blessings of giving one’s life to Christ are innumerable. You have nothing to lose by letting Him in but a lot to lose by refusing Him. If you haven’t given your life to Him, it is not too late to do so now, but later or tomorrow might be too late. Therefore, pray and ask God into your heart now, and you will be glad you did.

Pray this simple prayer.
Lord God, I acknowledge the Lordship of Your Son Jesus Christ in my life right now. I believe He died for me and rose again from the dead. Come into my life and reign eternally. If you pray the prayer genuinely, I congratulate you, and I welcome you to the fold of Christ. I encourage you to find a Bible-believing church so the seed of Christ in you now may find nutrients and grow. May God Almighty preserve your soul till Christ Jesus’ return. Amen.

If you genuinely prayed that prayer and gave your life to Christ, let me know in the comment below. God bless you.
