God Made You Vulnerable From The Beginning

The creation story according to the Holy Bible tells us that man was created vulnerable from the beginning. Because God, the Almighty, never created man first; He created him last. He didn’t make him with a fire that burns; He didn’t make him from precious and costly gold, he was not created from wind that can’t be seen yet blows everywhere, and neither was he made from water that washes clean.

But God created man from the dust which men trample on the ground (Gen.2:7-9). Then, he put him and his wife in the garden and made them vulnerable. First to Himself, then to his wife, and the wife He made vulnerable to her husband (Gen. 2:15-25). Hence, one is not complete without the other, and both are incomplete without their God. What an excellent wise God we serve!

Thus, God created every human vulnerable from the beginning. That’s why the Bible likened the woman to a weaker vessel – 1Peter 3:7. The word “weaker” is comparative, and its relative term is “weak.” Therefore, if the woman is a weaker vessel, that means the man is a weak vessel. In essence, they were both made vulnerable to God and to each other. The mess we are in today is because man tried to free himself from divine vulnerability; unfortunately, they got it all complicated.

Nevertheless, do not practice vulnerability with just anybody because it is dangerous to do such, in other words, not everyone deserves your vulnerability—instead, foster vulnerability for a good cause. I mean, do it where necessary and within essential or inevitable relationships.

Vulnerability is an intentional decision to disclose one’s feelings or wishes to others. It is a deliberate decision to reveal who you are, good or bad, without fearing being judged by your partner, spouse, friends, or people. The simple definition of vulnerability is “OPENNESS.” You will agree with me that the choice to be vulnerable is very risky. Nevertheless, it is the most honest way to achieve genuine and deep intimacy with God and between spouses, partners, friends, and relationships.

Similarly, vulnerability also involves risk-taking, which implies having faith in God and taking steps according to His instruction even though you do not see.
